The conclusion of the study was that 79% of manufacturers, across every sector and size, in England and Wales wanted expansion at Heathrow Airport over the other options available.
In the Thames Valley support for Heathrow expansion appears strong amongst the business community. Interesting to note that in the manufacturing sector across England and Wales that opinion is the same.
Nearly 80 per cent of Britain's manufacturers are backing an expansion at Heathrow airport, believing it to be the best strategic fit for the manufacturing sector and the best option to secure a better balanced economy, according to EEF. The manufacturing organisation's survey comes ahead of next Tuesday's deadline for the Airport Commission's final consultation on options for airport expansion. According to the study, 79 per cent of companies supported an expansion at Heathrow with a preference for the airport in every English region and Wales, as well as for every sector and company size.
