Property investment in Reading is on the increase and as the focus of the Thames Valley it is benefiting from a general upswing in confidence in the property market.
M&G Real Estate seem to have taken quite a shine to Reading this year – following on from the purchase of the former Aldwych building they have this week acquired 220,000 sq ft One Reading Central for the sum of £94.5m. Is this the start of a new boom in the town? I have looked through the EG data vaults and put together a snapshot of how Reading’s investment market has been faring over the past 6 years. With the Forbury place scheme under construction, the Station Hill development approved and the arrival of Crossrail in 2019, Reading may well be a wise investment.
